Trying to use filtering by map cells MAX VALUE

Postby dophin » Thu Dec 20, 2007 5:30 pm

Hello, Alex

I'm trying to use filtering by map cells setting a value on Max Value field
after checking the "enabled" checkbox

It does not seem to work

The other case, i.e. setting a value on Min Value field, works fine

Could you please help me ?

Best regards,

It works. You just need set Max value less than value you want to filter out.

Like in demo we provide, do the next

1. Build cube in standard mode. It will have Year, season by rows, Ware on columns
2. Open measure editor for SummaDN measure
3. set MaxValue (by map cells) to 100,000
4. Click OK

You will see only 2 rows - 2002,2006 year. All items, larger than 100,000 will filtered out

Thank you for the reply, Alex

Does this mean that I MUST AND CAN use a cube ONLY in STANDARD mode if I want to make some filtering by map cells using MaxValue ?

Using your tool, with a supersaturated cube the minvalue filter
works fine, on a measure added at runtime. I'm really missing
something.

Could you tell me a possible error that i've made ?

In extended mode it works in same way. In standard mode you cannot use filters by fact table records (corresponding controls disabled)

I do not know which errors you made because I do not know what you did. May be you enter value which do not change presented grid values so you think it does not work. Please note - if some cells filtered out but some still it may not change number of rows/columns until not all cells in row/column filtered out
